BETH & ALI - CAME HOUSE

Why did you choose Yeti?

Yeti's style is exactly what we love in a wedding video. It provide a fun and exciting feel which is blended with authenticity and emotion. We do not like cheesy style weddings; the really staged photos, the LOVE letters, a picture of a couple sitting on the bench etc. We want everything about our to feel natural and genuine; and we believe Yeti Film captures this perfectly in his videos. We do not like overly soppy, style videos either; it's a fine balance that we believe Yeti is great at capturing. The combination of wedding footage, scenery from drone, music style; combined with the emotion of speech content is achieved perfectly.

You guys…what do you do?…how do you spend your days?

We have always seen our career as a part of who we are and not who we are. This means we've tried to spend our time outside of work building the life we enjoy and making the most of our time. We love being outdoors and do lots of walking, our favourite place to be is on a hot sandy beach. Ali studied engineering at University, he is very keen on DIY and building things; so he likes to spend time doing that in the garage during the summer months. Beth loves socialising with friends and keeping active. We're both huge foodies and love good quality food. Italian and Spanish is probably our favourites. Pasta, charcuterie, tapas, bread, oil, hoummus etc. We're both enjoy exercise and fitness; Ali likes to go to the gym and Beth is obsessed with her Peloton. We have recently found Badminton as a sport that we both love to do together. It's great exercise and despite not being the slightest bit competitive, Beth always wins.

The proposal. Tell me everything. (All the gushy details!)

After had initially planned to propose during a planned trip of a lifetime to South Africa. This was going to be in a vineyard in the Stellenbosch region. However, as a result of Covid, the 2021 trip was unfortunately cancelled. Despite this, Ali knew he was going to propose so he set about getting a ring ready for when the right moment came up. Wanting to personalise the experience and ring, Ali found a jewellery designer and worked with her to design the ring. The ring design and making process took about 5 months to complete, and Ali received the ring in late October 2022, in perfect time for our trip to to Scotland. For the next 6 weeks, the ring sat in the DeWalt storage box of Ali's drill in the garage, a place he knew Beth would never look! We travelled up to Scotland for a week long trip, staying in a cottage on the edge of Loch Lomond, before meeting Beth's parents in Gleneagles and then finishing we a couple of nights in Edinburgh. Three weeks earlier, Ali had asked Beth's parents for her hand in marriage. Despite the expectation having been there for a few years, Beth's parents would appreciate the traditional approach. Unfortunately, rather than Ask - Ali sort of told them over lunch in London. After convincing Beth to wake up for sunrise over the Loch, we left the cottage, which was so secluded, we had to travel through three separate farmer's fields to access. We went down to the water's edge and sat, wrapped up in December, talking and laughing together. At this point, Ali discretely set up his phone on record and lent it against the bench leg. After 5 or so minutes of recording, the perfect moment was captured; Ali on one knee, Beth's face overwhelmed with excitement and shock and the scenic backdrop of Loch Lomond behind us.

Came House…..Why this place above any where else?

Beth found Came House and Melanie through instagram and became obsessed with the venue immediately. Despite viewing 7 other venues and seeing it last, we always thought Came stood out from the rest. It is not possible to visit Came House and not fall in love. The house and orangery are stunning, along with the grounds which look great in the spring/summer. It was also well located between us and immediate family. After meeting Melanie at the venue, we secured the booking immediately.

What experience do you want to give your guests?

We want our guests to have a fun day and truly feel like they're there to celebrate our marriage. We have both, especially Beth, put in a lot of effort to personalise every aspect of the day right down to the fine details. We always said that if our guests walked into a hundred weddings, we would want them to be able to tell which one was ours straight away. We want the day to flow with a fun and elegant feel. This is a celebration and we want everyone to have a great time whilst most importantly feeling welcomed and valued. We have selected an intimate guest list because everyone who is attending means so much to us.

Why did you have your wedding captured on video?

Weddings go so quickly and as the bride and groom, we won't be able to see or be part of the whole day. We want to be able to look back as a reminder of what we did and how great the day was. We also want to to be able to share the moments from our day for our guests to relive, and to be able to share the day with those who could not make it.
